Zusammenfassung:Stroke survivors have a high risk of recurrence, hence the importance of the impact of preventive treatments. Several scientific studies have focused on therapeutic aspects to reduce the incidence of recurrence, including our study to evaluate the effect of a plant-derived active ingredient: gallic acid, administered orally at a dose of 100 mg/kg prior to stroke induction by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery in wistar rats. The objective is to evaluate the efficacy of gallic acid on post-stroke sequelae, including lipid profile, and to quantify the protective effect of gallic acid on nerve and liver tissue. Our work indicates the ability of gallic acid to improve lipid balance and prevent cardiovascular risk by lowering cholesterol levels. A protective effect was observed following the histological study of brain and liver tissue.
