RHyD (Roman Hydraulics Database) : l'avvio di un progetto all'interno delle collezioni dei Musei Capitolini-Antiquarium

This paper illustrates a pilot project called RHyD (Roman Hydraulics Database), launched in 2023, in collaboration between the Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, the Museo Nazionale Romano and the University of Calabria, but focusing only on the hydraulic artefacts of the Antiquarium Comunale collection. The project aims to give greater scientific relevance and historical-archaeological value to Roman hydraulic artefacts by focusing on their characteristics, topographical context, and chronological timeframe, and by introducing an innovative method for their documentation, synthesising the location of finds in space and time in a single interface. Finally, we briefly illustrate a case study based on the information mentioned in CIL, XV, 7409 and 7438.
