RAPPORTO PRELIMINARE DELLA PRIMA MISSIONE ARCHEOLOGICA A SEGESTA DELL'UNIVERSITÀ DELL'ARIZONA (STAGIONE 2022)

From June 6-30, 2022, under the direction of Professors E. Blake and R. Schon, the University of Arizona conducted excavations on the slopes of Monte Barbaro in the Archaeological Park of Segesta. The goal of the project is to recover as much information as possible on daily life in the famous city (above all in the Archaic period). The research focuses on the use of residential space, documenting diet, craft production and domestic activities; in short, the private sphere of the ancient inhabitants of the site. In this article we report on the results of the first season of excavations of the project.
