Character values of prospective teacher students towards geometry

Character values can be developed in learning mathematics at school. Teachers play an important role as the front line in integrating character values. The fact of learning mathematics in schools shows that prospective mathematics teachers have not integrated character values, thus affecting the character of students facing changes in the future. This study aims to describe the character values of prospective teacher students in geometry courses. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were undergraduate students of Mathematics Education at a university in Palembang, Indonesia. Data was collected through observation, tests, and interviews to determine student activities during the geometry course. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the value of the character of hard work and independence in all subjects while the value of the character of curiosity is less dominant. For further research, it is recommended to find learning that can also increase the character of curiosity and the relationship between character values.
