Cycling has the potential to improve environmental health in urban areas as well as contribute to a healthy lifestyle for its users. It also serves as a method to possibly reduce congestion on motorized facilities by giving people another viable option. However, considerations for the mobility and safety of vulnerable roadway users are critical issues. Here, Smaglik et al outline considerations specifically for separated bike lanes and offer treatment strategies for numerous one- and two-way scenarios. |
