After the emergence of the concept of agrifood regime, rural studies experienced a change in the internal readings of power in agrarian societies, as opposed to the vertical analysis of the contractual relations that agroindustrial complexes establish with peasants. Based on a mixed research, which included participant observation, surveys of 120 household groups and interviews with key social subjects, we took up a Foucauldian reading to critically analyze the historical conformation, as well as the current implications of the microphysics of power that are reproduced in a peasant agrifood supply system in Chiapas, Mexico. A reflection on the character of rural epiphenomenon expressed by peasant micropowers is concluded.
