Zusammenfassung: | The aim of the present research was to investigate gratitude affecting the association between psychological wellbeing and negative life events in the times of COVID-19 among university students. The study was conducted on students (N = 300) from different universities of Pakistan in the times of COVID-19 with mean age of 22.82 years (SD = 2.86). Participants were selected through purposive sampling. Three scales were used to measure the constructs that included Negative Life Events Scale (Newcomb & Harlow, 1986; Wills et al., 1992), Gratitude Questionnaire by McCullough et al. (2002) and Psychological Wellbeing Scale by Ryff and Keyes (1995). The study found that negative life events were negatively related to psychological wellbeing and positively related to gratitude. Moreover, psychological wellbeing had been found to be positively related to gratitude. Also, a link was found between the relationship among negative events of life and psychological wellbeing within the university students during the times of COVID-19. Results also revealed that gratitude does not act as a moderator between the relationship of negative life events and psychological wellbeing. |
