Zusammenfassung:Results are presented from numerical modeling to investigate the effect the Earth’s relief has on the circulation of the lower and middle atmosphere. The main focus is on the effect an isolated mountain array has on the circulation of the lower and middle atmosphere in its vicinity. Mountains and rocks covering the Kerguelen archipelago are selected to represent the isolated mountain array.
