Zusammenfassung:To compare the erosion rate of pure polypropylene and polypropylene blended with 10%wt bio-char. Methods and materials: Experiment was conducted for two groups namely Group 1 (pure polypropylene) and Group 2 (polypropylene filled with Biochar). Sample size was determined using G power calculations and it was derived to be 20 samples per group. Twin screw extruding process and injection molding were used for the fabrication of the samples. Solid particle erosion testing was done according to ASTM G76 standards. Results: It was inferred from the results that the impact resistance of the composite when adding biochar was 3.7J/M, whereas the erosion rate of the composite without addition of biochar was 1.95J/M. Conclusion: It was revealed that when adding novel biochar particulates, the impact resistance of the composite increases by 27 % approximately.
