Zusammenfassung:Burnout among Malaysian housemen is on the rise, according to evidence. The goal of this study is to see how job ambiguity affects burnout among housemen in Malaysian public hospitals. In this study, organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) was also examined as a moderating variable. The relationship between all variables in this study has been explained using Social Exchange Theory (SET), with the concept that a mutual advantage must be exchanged between two parties, particularly between the housemen (workers) and a representative from the institutions (public hospitals). The questionnaire was delivered at random to the study’s respondents. The data was analysed with the help of PLS SEM. The outcomes of this study helps the Malaysian Ministry of Health (MoH) discover characteristics that can reduce burnout among Malaysian housemen. Following that, the findings of this study serves as a guide for senior management in all public hospitals in terms of policy creation and implementation. This understanding of how to reduce houseman burnout could eventually help the country deliver better service to the communities. Last but not least, numerous future research directions have been recommended.
