Zusammenfassung: | Microfluidic devices build benefits such as capacity to manipulate 10-9 to 10-18 L sample volume, fast analysis and on-spot detection are required for separation and analysis of biomolecules for earlier clinical assays. This paper presents the electrophoresis based separation of platelets from whole blood for the early diagnosis of illness such as thrombocytophenia and thrombocytosis. Simple cross flow microfluidic channel, utilizing focusing and filtration channels, is designed for separation based on electrophoresis and electro-osmosis principle. Blood and analyte solution is introduced into the device using the capillary forceand the separation is achieved by applying the electric potential. The concentration of different molecules along the channels is analyzed for the designed structure. |
