Zusammenfassung:As there is a high increase in the interest in environmental issues in recent years, and in according to this desire for reduction of the pollution load to the environment, the problem of the reverse osmosis concentrate (ROC) amount that be released to the neighboring environment of the West Assiut combined cycle power plant (WACCPP), needs to be solved. The amount of reverse osmosis concentrate reduction, by quality improvement through reduction of total dissolved solids (TDS) in reverse osmosis’s feed water (treatment scenario) which could increase the reverse osmosis units permeate, consequently decreasing the ROC water volume was studied. Also, the produced ROC’s quality improvement in the laboratory using Al electrodes for TDS reduction is used in a process called electrocoagulation is applied. Consequently, the ROC amount reduction and quality improvement were achieved, and the rejected water that could be released to the neighboring environment safely.
