Zusammenfassung:Tourism development is one of the promising sectors because it will have a positive impact on the welfare of the community. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development of tourism destinations in Muaro Batang Arau with a Good Environmental Governance approach. This qualitative research uses data analysis techniques Manual Data Analysis Procedure (MDAP). The results showed that the management of the Muaro Batang Arau Tourism Destination area was not based on the principles of Good Environmental Governance because the community had not been included in the management of the Muaro Batang Arau Destination area, there was no agreement between the community and the government, sectoral egos between agencies, and users of natural resources downstream of the river. Muaro has not paid for his environmental responsibilities. Developing tourist destinations in the Muaro Batang Arau area is still a homework for the City of Padang. Therefore, the City Government needs to emphasize Good Environmental Governance in the development of Muaro Batang Arau with programs and roadmaps that can realize the goals of the Muaro Batang Arau tourist area with approaches and principles of environmental care and sustainable development.
