Zusammenfassung:The Research Center for Accelerator Technology (PRTA) at the PUSPIPTEK Serpong is one of the research centers of the Research Organization for Nuclear Energy (ORTN), which belongs to the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The PRTA has a task and function to perform research, development, and innovation in the field of accelerator technology. Therefore, in order to implement the task and function of the research center, an accelerator facility will be developed as a core facility of the research center. Considering the characteristics of the electrostatic accelerator, among others are its ability to produce continuous beams and higher beam currents, and also the beam energy can be varied over a wide range of energies so the electrostatic accelerators are useful to industries, so a tandem electrostatic accelerator will be as a part of the accelerator facility. In addition, the tandem electrostatic accelerator can be used as an injector for a synchrotron, a kind of cyclic accelerator that can produce a high-energy beam of protons and heavy ions. A preliminary study has been carried out to get information related to the technical aspect of a tandem electrostatic accelerator, and the result of the study is presented in this article.
