Zusammenfassung:The number of researches about using nanomaterial in different types of concrete has increased recently. This study presented the existing study about applications of nano clay in traditional and self-compacting concrete and showed its impact on these types of concrete. The adding nano helps reduce cement content by partially replacing cement and helps reduce microspore formation resulting in a matrix with higher density. This review found that utilizing nano clay (N.C.) as a part of cement replacement can increase conventional and concrete’s strength, microstructure density, and durability. Concrete’s mechanical properties can be improved by incorporating nano clay, by enhancing the homogeneity of the concrete’s matrix, thus reducing the isolation of self-compacting concrete. The addition of nanomaterials such as nano clay affects the properties of fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete in a positive way.
