Carbon nanoparticles for medicine: current and future

Carbon-based nanoparticles create a huge group with substantial applications in the diagnosis and therapy of diseases. Herein, the mechanism of their outstanding properties was discussed to form a new insight for handling their issues and developing new applications in medical field. In addition, the strategies to remove the possible toxicity effects were gathered and a complete literature review about their production by economical methods was done. At the end of this article, the future applications of these nanoparticles and their new derivatives were noted. Graphic abstract
