Zusammenfassung: | Due to easy installation, conventional circular piles are commonly employed as the foundation for construction. However, in several crucial situations, these conventional piles cannot be able to develop the required capacity. A novel solution, the spin fin pile foundation over a circular pile, is created to address this issue. Previous studies on spin fin piles are very limited to straight fins and for single spin fin piles only. This research work focuses on calculating the uplift capacity of inclined fin piles for various fin shapes, including trapezoidal and triangular fins. The results of different shapes of inclined fin piles are compared with circular piles for the calculation of fin efficiency. With the help of the MIDAS GTS NX, finite element analysis (FEM) was performed. The analyses includes elements like full-scale 3D modeling, a pile-soil interface, an elastic fin and pile material, and an elastic-plastic soil model. The behaviour of triangular shape and trapezoidal shape inclined fin piles for different densities of single pile and pile groups are investigated. Analysis shows that, compare to circular pile foundations, inclined fin piles offered the best option to increase uplift resistance. Fin efficiency for trapezoidal fin is more as compare to triangular fin pile. |
