Zusammenfassung: | The level of total mortality and mortality from cardiovascular diseases has been defined subsequent to the results of the prospective study of the cohort of the old-age population of the republic, which was conducted for the first time. Subject to the seven-year cohort study, high indexes of mortality due to all causes (42.7%) and cardiovascular diseases (28.4%) have been recorded for the population of Yakutia aged 60 years and older. Circulatory diseases comprise 68% of all causes of death; ischemic heart diseases (IHD) (59%) and cerebrovascular diseases (22%) are the main causes within cardiovascular pathology. There were no ethnic or gender differences between mortality rates found in the cohort of interest. The total mortality and mortality due to cardiovascular pathology, as well as the relative risk of fatal issue development, have a statistically significant increase with the age. The growth rates of total and cardiovascular mortality are almost identical in both ethnic groups. |
