Zusammenfassung: | This paper investigates the possibility of introducing subcutaneous microchip radio frequency identification device (RFID) in medicine and health care. Microchips are used for many years for different purposes in production and sale, medicine and also to identify some domestic animals. In the study we were interested in whether people in Slovenia would be willing to use subcutaneous microchip and under what conditions. This paper presents the preliminary results of study carried out from January to March 2014. The results show that there is potential for use of RFID implantable microchip in health care also in Slovenia. The attitude of respondents toward adoption of microchips depends on their personal characteristics and on characteristic of microchip. The biggest concern of the respondents was the possibility of GPS tracking of microchip. |
