Zusammenfassung:The design of a prototype thermoelectric device (TED) for stopping bleeding by local freezing of the blood flow area is discussed. Results of field studies are presented. Field tests demonstrated the feasibility of using the device in practice, the usability of standard thermoelectric modules (TEM) produced by Russian firms, the short time taken to reach operating mode, and the high efficacy of hemostasis.
