Zusammenfassung:This communication provides insight into the advance of TLD phosphors and composites for potential utility in dosimetry, where thermoluminescence (TL) may be used as a computing tool for doses of ionising radiation. Thermoluminescence (TL) is the stimulated type of luminescence. Initially, the energies are absorbed by irradiated samples during the thermoluminescence study, causing the formation of traps. The traps thus formed can be shallow or deep. As a consequence of thermal excitation, the energy is eventually released in the visible region. The major applications of TL are mostly in radiation dosimetry, radiation protection, and biological fields, personal and environmental monitoring, archaeological dating, etc. The defect structure, impurities level, and distribution within the material’s energy band gap can all be determined.
