Zusammenfassung:—The results of studying the reduction roasting of the crude titanomagnetite concentrate from the Gremyakha–Vyrmes deposit are presented. The reduction roasting of a pelleted charge is conducted on a carbon support to form a granulated metal and a titanium–vanadium slag appropriate for the subsequent hydrometallurgical processing with titanium and vanadium recovery. The reduction roasting is studied in a temperature range of 1450–1500°C at various amounts of coke as a solid reducing agent. The effect of the coke content in a mixture and the reduction temperature on the composition of the formed titanium–vanadium slag is studied. The optimum conditions for the production of a titanium–vanadium slag appropriate for subsequent processing are determined as a result of the solid-phase reduction of the crude titanomagnetite concentrate.
