Zusammenfassung: | The research focuses on the ways to improve the digital competence of university teachers. There are three categories of requirements: (1) the State requirements to the advancement of the Russian economy digitalization; (2) the requirements of the society to the level of university training that would provide the professionally sufficient command of a foreign language; (3) the requirements of the professional community to implement the principles of professional linguodidactics. Thus, developing foreign language teachers’ digital competence means ensuring education quality in the currently changing socio-economic conditions. One of the key problems is the insufficiently developed methodology of designing the appropriate up-skilling programs. The study aims to identify and systematize the principles of developing foreign language teachers’ digital competence. Based on the earlier research, the authors suggest the methodological grounds for the ideas of synergy and integration of the factors of education. The research methods include the analysis of domestic legislation on education management and the relevant literature sources, review of pedagogical practices related to the up-skilling of foreign language teachers, SWOT-analysis, synthesis, and generalization. The main research result is a systematized list of principles of developing foreign language teachers’ digital competence considered to be an aspect of their up-skilling. |
