Improving the acceptance inspection technology for brake units of railway cars during routine uncoupling repair

The current technology of a testing and acceptance inspection of the brake units of railway cars during routine uncoupling maintenance is analysed in this article. The regulatory and technical requirements which specify the acceptance inspection of braking equipment are reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages of the facilities used in testing the brake units of a railway car are revealed. The prospects for the development of technical tools for testing and acceptance inspection of brake units are assessed and ways to improve the technology of acceptance inspection of braking equipment are proposed.
