Zusammenfassung:Uranium and Radon concentration were created in water by the decay of naturally occurring radionuclide (238U,232Th) and their daughter (226Ra). The samples were collected from the different location in Al-Muthanna City south of Iraq. The Uranium and Radon concentration were determined through seal cup/passive method by utilizing the CR39 SSNTD. It was founded the concentration for Uranium and Radon between (0.065691 to 0.337838 µg/L), (0.00516 to 0.026539 Bq/L) respectively. The value of the dissolved radon (Cd) concentration in the collected samples varies from 0.1771 to 0.0344Bq·L-1 with an average of 0.0804 Bq·L-1, The value of the Annual Effective Dose (AED) concentration varies from 0.0969 to 0.0188 µSv·y-1 with an average of 0.04399µSv·y-1. The present results have displayed that the Uranium and radon concentrations in tap water samples are lower than the recommended limit 11.1Bq/L. The consumption of this tap water does not lead to any health risk to the population of Al-Muthanna governorate.
