Zusammenfassung:: A pleural effusion is an excessive accumulation of fluid in the pleural space, indicates an imbalance between pleural fluid formation and removal. Accumulation of pleural fluid is not a specific disease, but rather a reflection of underlying pathology. Pleural effusions accompany a wide variety of disorders of the lung, pleura, and systemic disorders. Objective: To evaluate outcomes and patient’s compliance of VATS. Conclusion: VATS is now considered a routine approach for many pulmonary procedures: it offers good results without significant complications. In benign diseases, achieving a very ambitious goal, it allows performance of the operative procedures required with minimum damage to the chest wall
