Zusammenfassung:Introduction: obesity is an “epidemic” due to its prevalence and related physical and mental health comorbidities, and an appropriate approach could decrease its morbidity. Objective: to evaluate the effects of Average Weight Loss (AWN) with a weight loss intervention with a supportive component in primary care. Methods: A prospective study was conducted based on a 3-month treatment program through motivational interviewing in primary care. Results: The percentage of weight change at the 12-month follow-up was also significant (t (22)= -2.40, p=0.025; d'=0.5. Conclusions: The trial of EM weight loss plus AWN in primary care resulted in statistically significant weight loss after treatment
