Zusammenfassung: | The study focused on the strategies for scaling-up educational intervention in technical, vocational education and training (TVET) for sustainable development in Nigeria. The study was a survey research design conducted at public universities in Nigeria. Three research questions and three null hypotheses guided the study. Data generated was analyzed using mean with standard deviation and t-test statistical tools were used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 significant level and 68 degree of freedom. Thirty items questionnaire was constructed by the researchers and were validated by five experts from University of Nigeria. The reliability of the instrument was 0.78. The return rate of the instrument was 100%. All the 70 instruments distributed to the respondents were returned. The population for the study was 70 respondents made up of 20 lectures and 50 students of public universities in Nigeria that runs TVET. Six universities one from each of the six geo-political zones that make up Nigeria was randomly selected for the study. The study found that lack of good and qualified TVET lectures and technologists, un-available state of the art workshops, laboratories, libraries and facilities, un- friendly academic environment, poor provision of technical funds, poor payment of salaries and allowances and lack of training and re-training of technical staff are the challenges to scaling-up educational interventions in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Nigeria. Based on the findings, it was recommended that the government and some gifted philanthropists should make fund available to the TVET institutions for the smooth running of a better and functional technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Nigeria. |
