Structural-Phase and Technical Characteristics of Alumina of Different Brands and Manufacturers

The article presents the data on the structural-phase and technical characteristics of alumina of domestic brands (GN, GKIS, GLMK, GNK, GK, GEF) and foreign manufacturers Almatis and Nabaltec (Germany). It is shown that, according to the regulatory documents and the conducted research, foreign manufacturers produce numerous grades of alumina of high purity and dispersity. Among domestic manufacturers, both in terms of ensuring a high level of physical and technical properties and economic efficiency feasibility, alumina of the GN brand of the Boksitogorsk alumina metallurgy plant satisfies all requirements, being manufactured in compliance with the requirements of GOST 30559–98. To solve the urgent problem of import substitution using domestic raw materials for large-scale production of alumina ceramics, it is necessary to quickly improve the technology for producing alumina with physical and technical characteristics that meet international standards.
