Zusammenfassung:In the global pandemic, several micro-organisms began to become resistant to the drugs due to abuse or prolonged use. They also get multidrug resistance through quorum sensing. The modulation of gene expression in response to oscillations in cell-population density is known as quorum sensing. With quorum sensing, the benefit increases as the cell population increases. Biofilms consist of a large number of extracellular polymer compounds that are released by the bacteria living in them. By ingesting this extracellular polymeric substance, they become cross-resistant to the given drugs and act as a protective layer for the pathogenic microbes.
