Zusammenfassung: | Zingiberofficinale Roscoe, commonly known as ginger, has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties. The aim of this study is to evaluate the phytochemical, toxicological and anti-anxiety effects of Rhizomes of Zingiberofficinale Roscoe (RZO) hydroalcoholic extract in animal models. The hydroalcoholic extract of RZO was administered at dose level 2000mg/kg Body weight to male SD rats for Acute dose toxicity studies and the behavioral changes were observed. The results showed that the extract did not produce any significant toxicity at the tested doses. Furthermore, the extract of Rhizome’s ofZingiberofficinale showed anxiolytic effects in the elevated plus-maze test (EPM) and the open field model in albino mice at dose level 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg dose of Rhizome’s ofZingiberofficinaleExtract. These results suggest that Zingiberofficinale Roscoe may have potential therapeutic use as an anti-anxiety agent without causing any significant toxicity. However, further studies are required to determine the mechanisms of action and clinical efficacy of the extract. |
