Zusammenfassung: | Women play a vital role in the progress of a family, society or country. In order to make democracy successful in the country women education is equally important with the men. Education is one of the milestones for women empowerment because it enables them to respond to the challenges, to confront their traditional role and change their lifestyle. Standing in the twenty first century if we go back to the nineteenth century, we will find that women had to go through a tough time to cross the hurdle of blind faith and superstition to promote education for them. The purpose of this paper is to explore the original motive of the colonial Govt. and the Indian intelligentsia for patronizing women education. |
