Flow-FISH of CD34+ CD38- for Measurement of Minimal Residual Disease in Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia Patients

In acute myeloid leukemia patients, the leukemia initiating cells (LICs) are thought to be found in the CD34+CD38- cell compartment. The LICs subpopulation in some cases combats chemotherapy and may cause minimal residual disease (MRD) and relapse. The aim of this study was to detect MRD with Flow- F...

Zusammenfassung:In acute myeloid leukemia patients, the leukemia initiating cells (LICs) are thought to be found in the CD34+CD38- cell compartment. The LICs subpopulation in some cases combats chemotherapy and may cause minimal residual disease (MRD) and relapse. The aim of this study was to detect MRD with Flow- FISH technique after one cycle of induction chemotherapy and comparing the results with blast cell percent.
