Zusammenfassung: | According to literature review steven Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis are rarest adverse drug reactions which were observed in patients receiving amoxicillin. Other dermatological reactions observed in older research studies with regarding to amoxicillin were maculopapular and erythematous rash. There are older case reports to suggest that ampicllin and amoxicillin induced rash were similar due to same structural chemical relationship. There is only slight difference between ampicllin and amoxicillin in which absorption and urinary excretion of amoxicillin is better than ampicillin. Therefore rash induced either by amoxicillin or ampicllin does not have any clinical significance due to similar chemical structural activity relationship. There are more case reports that is suggestive of amoxicillin influencing DRESS syndrome through cross reactivity with following medications such as carbamazepine , sulfasalazine and benzylpencillin . Some of the rarest case reports that was reflected with regarding amoxicillin induced DRESS syndrome may occur within five days after receiving this antibiotic , instead of commonly accepted time temporal relationship where DRESS syndrome may occur in between fourteen days to sixty days after the introduction of offending drugs |
