Zusammenfassung:Given its financial success, several pharmaceutical industries most likely use gastro- retentive drug delivery. The best candidates for the creation of a gastro-retentive drug delivery system are medications that have a short half-life, are poorly soluble at alkaline pH, and are largely absorbed in the stomach. To promote stomach retention of an oral dose form, conventional methods have been used. The development of devices intended to be kept in the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract has, nevertheless, progressed steadily in terms of technology and variety during the past few decades. The development of gastric retention technologies has been the focus of several significant pharmaceutical businesses, including Oleotec, Soctec, Accordion Pill, GRID, Multiple Polymers Hydrophilic Matrix, Acuform, GIPET, GIRES, Micropump, and Gastrodose. The most recent commercially available gastro-retentive technologies in the field of GRDDS are highlighted in this review article. Additionally, references have been made to the GRDDS's scholarly trend and patent applications linked to its development. The development of the clinical studies also demonstrates the commercial utility or market potential of GRDDS.
