Determination of destruction probability of brick structures caused by the exhaustion of brickwork capacity under flexure

Using the statistical method by Monte Carlo, the procedure for determining the probability of brick constructions’ destruction due to the capacity exhaustion under flexure is developed. Based on the proposed methodology, an algorithm is elaborated; and a computer program designed to solve such probabilistic tasks is written. Calculations to determine the probability of brickwork destruction are performed. It is elucidated that the value of the probability of destruction of brick structures for the basic service life corresponds to the minimum values of the reliability, recommended by current regulations and Eurocodes.
