Intelligent application for COVID-19 diagnosis using CT scan

One of the epidemic diseases that has spread recently with symptoms similar to the flu is COVID-19. Since December 2019, the new Coronavirus has appeared in China and spread all around the world. The computed tomography (CT) and x-rays are utilized as an available and accurate diagnostic tool. Hence In this work introduces a mobile application that detects COVID-19 through the use of a deep-learning solution to assist specialist doctors. This experiment used one of the largest CT-scan public chest databases with 746 participants. Results indicate that the proposed method can achieve a 97% accuracy rate, across all performance metrics being evaluated. Experiment results suggest that such a Deep CNN-based approach could be useful in achieving fast COVID19 testing in real diagnostic situations.
