Zusammenfassung:[LANGUAGE= "English"] Anemia is a major problem and a frequent complication in patients with cancer, and is reported to considerably influence the patient's quality of life, physical activity, performance status, hospitalization and its frequency, ratio response to treatment and overall life. Treatment with erythropoietin (EPO) is beneficial in patients who received particularly platinium chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Studies searching costeffectiveness and safety showed that EPO might be an alternative therapy method. With regards to the conditions in Turkey, EPO treatment should apply for each patient when the risk and benefit ratio is taken into consideration.
