Strategy to Construct Polycyclic Scaffolds via Formal Aza‐Diels‐Alder Reaction of Dihydro‐β‐Carboline with Heterodiene Precursor

The formal aza‐Diels‐Alder reaction of dihydro‐β‐carboline with heterodiene mediated by caesium carbonate has been described. This pathway provided a mild approach to functionalized polycyclic frameworks in 41%–91% yields.
