Zusammenfassung: | Achieving high energy efficiency performance in buildings has become an increasingly crucial issue, due to the need to correspond to consumption containment and emission reduction targets defined internationally and at the EU level to address the environmental and climate crisis. The perspective of minimizing energy requirements imposed by regulations as well as voluntary protocols and standards empowers designers and operators in the construction sector to identify new materials and appropriate, consistent and compatible technological solutions. Among the solutions that enable the creation of building envelopes with increasingly high energy-environmental performance, an important segment consists of thermal insulation materials and systems for the containment of heat loss and the limitation of energy requirements, capable of guaranteeing at the same time proper fire behaviour and adequate acoustic insulation performances. A competition that brings into play, in addition to thermal performance, other physical characteristics of materials, installation conditions, interface with other functional layers, and, finally, supply and installation prices. |
