Zusammenfassung:Triplet-sensitized Z-to-E photoisomerization of arylazopyrazole derivatives was achieved with red-light excitation of Pd(II) meso-tetraphenyltetrabenzoporphyrin (PdTPTBP) in deaerated DMSO solution. The triplet energy gap between the sensitizer and the arylazopyrazoles affects the apparent rate of Z-to-E photoisomerization. On-demand photoswitching of arylazopyrazoles proceeds facilely and reversibly with almost 100% efficiency despite the endothermic triplet energy transfer processes.
