Zusammenfassung:This work describes a switchable access to imines and amines from secondary alcohols using a Pd(OAc)2 catalyst. The synthesis of imines occurs through acceptorless alcohol dehydrogenation (ADC) under optimized conditions. Notably, when the catalytic reaction is performed in a closed system with a base, a switchable behavior is displayed, favoring the selective formation of corresponding amine products through borrowing hydrogen (BH). Moreover, Pd(OAc)2 has also proven successful in obtaining valuable N‐heterocyclic indoles from the produced imines, demonstrating the significant versatility and potential of this protocol.
