Zusammenfassung:According to previous research, images of China in Western media have shifted over time, and there has always been a fluctuation of China's image with the change of international relationship (Isaacs, 1980) (Mosher, 1990) (Shambaugh, 2003) (Peng, 2004) (Cao, 2012). Most of the previous studies on China's image are sporadic, focusing on one or several medias. [...]to attain a clear and holistic picture of China's global media image, a comprehensive overview of the present studies about China's media image is needed. Figure 1 is the revised workflow diagram of PRI SMA that depicts the process of systematic review. 3.4.Data Analytic Strategy After reviewing the collected literature, different components of the studies had been categorized in an Excel form, including titles, time of publication, research objectives, research subjects, research methods, research theory and research results. Other media mentioned includes radio and books. 4.3.Research Methods The result (Table 2) reveals that content analysis (n=16):discourse analysis corpus analysis (n=15):and corpus analysis (n=to) are the research methods mentioned most frequently in the sample, indicating the mainstream research method used in studies on the media image of China. Besides the three methods mentioned above, the other research methods include CDA (critical discourse analysis) textual analysis, comparative analysis, database analysis, semiotic analysis, sentiment analysis, and visual analysis. 4.4.Research Theory Table 3 demonstrates the theories used in literatures.
