Zusammenfassung: | Comments on the article by Sauter, et al. (see record 2023-72906-001). In this issue of Clinical Psychology: Science and Practice, Sauter et al. (2023) provide clinicians with a framework and corresponding resource for case conceptualization and treatment planning for individuals with mild ID and borderline intellectual functioning (BIF). This framework supplies a crosswalk for the provision of therapy for individuals with BIF and ID for use by clinicians with expertise in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Training and resources such as these are key to addressing the large disparity in the availability of clinicians who provide psychotherapy to individuals with ID. Sauter and colleagues provide clinicians with a case formulation tool that they can immediately put into practice with individuals with ID.
