Zusammenfassung:[...]we aimed to examine the risk of DE among female and male fitness club members, compare body appreciation, exercise motivation, exercise frequency, and Body Mass Index (BMI) between those classified with or without risk of DE, and evaluate factors associated with for the risk of DE. The participants responded to an online survey including background variables (age, sex, body weight and height, smoking, educational level, total household income, and occupation), weekly exercise frequency, risk of DE (The Eating Disorder Screen for Primary Care (ESP)), body appreciation (The Body appreciation scale version 2 (BAS-2)), and exercise motivation (The Behavioral Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire-2, BREQ-2)). A consciousness of DE needs to be addressed in the development of marketing strategies and exercise concepts, including increased knowledge of DE among fitness instructors and personal trainers.
