Zusammenfassung: | The object recognition system can be a useful tool for helping blind people recognize the object they touch in their surroundings. It is a useful system as it helps people with a visible disability feel the object personally and determine the name of the object by a single touch on the object. The main purpose of this study is to develop an object recognition system that helps blind people to recognize a certain object personally. Most of the time, blinds will have to depend on others to guide them and let them know the name of the object they touch due to their disability to determine the specific object. This system works by using a flex sensor, FSR, and MP3 player. The flex sensor and the FSR are mounted in a glove that can be worn by the user. The flex sensor is used to determine the shape of the object, while the FSR is used to determine the hardness of the object. Each object will have a specific value of voltage to be read by the sensors. Once the wearer touches an object, the voltage value varies depending on the amount of deflection of the flex sensor and the pressure applied to the FSR. Once the bending reaches a specified voltage value, the output will be displayed on the screen. The MP3 is used to convert the output in the form of an acoustic signal, and the wearer will listen to the name of the object touched. |
