Zusammenfassung: | Welfare of laborers in construction project site brings a very huge impact on the laborers’ working efficiency and productivity. However, the welfares are often inadequate or neglected by the employers in most of the construction site. The objectives of this research were to categorize the types of welfare in construction sites, assess the workers’ satisfaction in a construction site with regards to welfare provision, and recommend an effective measurement to improve the current welfare in construction sites which located at Klang Valley, Penang and Kedah. A questionnaire was formulated and consisted of the satisfaction of working environment, occupational safety, health and welfare, as well as welfare facilities. The questionnaire was distributed through an online google form to the construction site personnel, as they were experiencing the welfare and facilities provided in the construction project site. The questionnaire was distributed to 120 potential respondents, however, only 64 respondents responded and conducted this survey, which was 53.33%. Statistical Package for Social Science of version 26.0 was used to interpret and analyze the results and calculate the reliability. The analysis of the respondents found out that the overall satisfaction was 68.13%. From the analysis, the respondents were most satisfied with the occupational safety, health and welfare, followed by working environment, and lastly welfare facilities. Besides, all respondents also agreed that providing welfare could increase working productivity. Therefore, the study recommended that there should be a regular inspection and assessment by the related authorities, to ensure that the welfares and amenities provided in the project construction site always up to the standard and well-maintained. |
