Zusammenfassung:The genome as a program and biological evolution as a computational process are discussed from the point of view of functional programming and the application of category theory in programming. Epigenetic code is considered as an imperative superstructure over genetics (functional programming). Biological evolution is discussed in relation to machine learning and non-deterministic computations.
