Zusammenfassung:Binuclear lanthanide complexes with cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6]), [{Ln(H 2 O) 6 } 2 (μ-CB[6])]Cl 6 · n H 2 O (Ln = Yb( 1 ), Eu( 2 ), Tb( 3 )), are prepared by evaporating a solution containing lanthanide chloride and cucurbit[6]uril. The XRD data for the single crystal of 1 show that the metal in this compound is connected to the macrocycle due to the bidentate coordination of oxygen atoms of cucurbit[6]uril portals to lanthanide(III) cations, leading to the formation of a cationic complex. In the crystal, the [{Ln(H 2 O) 6 } 2 (CB[6])] 6+ cations are interconnected by a system of hydrogen bonds. Compounds 1 – 3 are isostructural. The studied compounds are characterized by IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric and elemental analyses, X-ray powder diffraction, and luminescence spectroscopy.
