Zusammenfassung:The goal of this research is to describe English teachers’ opinions of educational supervision in Merapi Barat, Lahat, in connection to their teacher professionalism. About three sections to cover: (a) English teachers’ attitudes toward supervision of education; (b) English teachers’ attitudes toward their professionalism after supervised; and (c) English teachers’ professionalism after being supervised. The research was conducted at Public Senior High School 1 Merapi Barat, Lahat, Public Senior High School 2 Lahat, and Public Senior High School 4 Lahat. The subjects of the research were three English teachers who have taught English for more than five years. Qualitative research has been conducted for this study. Data collected with interview, classroom observation and document analysis. The findings of the study revealed that Teachers felt that educational monitoring is a continuous process of observing how teachers educate in the classroom according to the lesson plan and improving their teaching skills, and that Despite having lots of time, they admitted that preparing for educational supervision was their most challenging challenge. They were also unsatisfied with the quality of the supervisors, who did not have the same academic background as them. They all reported, however, that they felt an improvement in assessing their students through the use of various forms of assessments, in employing diverse instructional media and audio-visual aids, and in organizing their courses. Furthermore, all of the instructors mentioned that they joined MGMP and were ready to continue their studies in order to improve their expertise as English teachers. Unfortunately, none of them kept a teaching journal as part of their teaching reflection, which could have helped them improve their professionalism.
